what would you write in a diary you knew you'd burn?
some things need to exist on a page even if only for a moment. the promise of burning it is what makes the truth safe enough to write.
every day there's one live question, the same for everyone. answer it anonymously, see what other people said. it's all gone in seven days.
answer today's question →give yourself permission to write something that won't last. you can actually burn it afterwards if you want to. but for now, write as though the page will disappear. say the petty thing, the ugly thing, the frightened thing. say the thing about someone you love that you cannot say to their face. say what you want that embarrasses you. write quickly and without rereading. fill at least half a page. then stop and notice how your body feels. lighter, or heavier? write one final line about why this needed fire to be spoken.
- write the thing you would never want read at your funeral.
- say something honest about someone you are supposed to love unconditionally.
- put down the desire or fear that feels too embarrassing to hold, even privately.
this is for people who censor themselves even in their own journals. for anyone who needs the safety of impermanence before they can be fully honest.
