what did you survive that you’ve never given yourself credit for?

there are things you lived through that no one clapped for. no one marked the day you came out the other side. this question is about pausing long enough to notice that you did.

every day there's one live question, the same for everyone. answer it anonymously, see what other people said. it's all gone in seven days.

answer today's question

write down something you got through. it doesn't have to be the biggest thing. sometimes the hardest survivals are the quiet ones, the months you held yourself together with very little help. describe what it actually took. not the story you tell others, but the private version. how it felt in your chest. what you had to put down or pick up. then write one line that begins, "i got through that." see how it feels to put it in ink. you're not dramatising. you're just being accurate for once.

  • write about a period of your life you compress into one sentence when really it deserves a whole page.
  • think about something difficult you handled alone, and describe what it cost you.
  • write about a version of yourself who was surviving something and didn't know yet that they'd make it.

this is for anyone who kept going without ceremony. especially if you tend to skip past your own hard things because someone else always had it worse.
