who would you visit if there was time?

there's someone you think about more than you contact. someone you'd visit if the days were longer, if the distance were shorter, if things were simpler than they are.

every day there's one live question, the same for everyone. answer it anonymously, see what other people said. it's all gone in seven days.

answer today's question

write down the name of the person you'd visit. don't overthink it, just write the first name that comes. then describe what you imagine the visit would be like. where would you go, what would you talk about, what would it feel like to be near them again? now write about what's actually stopping you. is it time, distance, money, or something harder to name? sometimes the obstacle is logistical. sometimes it's emotional. be honest about which one it really is. then write one small thing you could do this week that moves you a little closer to that person, even if it's just a message.

  • write about the last time you saw this person and what it felt like when you left.
  • think about whether you've been waiting for the right moment, and whether that moment will ever arrive on its own.
  • ask yourself what you're afraid you've already lost by waiting this long.

this is for anyone who carries a quiet longing for someone they love but haven't made time for.
