who would you sit with at 3am if you could?

there's a version of closeness that only exists in the small hours. the person who comes to mind when everything else goes quiet probably means more than you've said out loud.

every day there's one live question, the same for everyone. answer it anonymously, see what other people said. it's all gone in seven days.

answer today's question

write the name down first. don't overthink it, just the first person who appeared. then ask yourself why them. is it because they feel safe, or because you miss them, or because something was left unfinished. write about what you imagine you'd talk about, or whether you'd talk at all. sometimes the answer is just sitting next to someone in silence. if more than one person came to mind, notice who you chose first. write about what that choice tells you about what you need right now.

  • write about the last time you were with this person and whether it felt like enough.
  • describe what the room would look like, what you'd both be doing, whether there'd be words at all.
  • ask yourself whether this person knows they'd be your answer.

this one is for you if there's someone you haven't spoken to in a while but still think about when you can't sleep.
