what’s the thing you’ll be glad you faced?

you probably already know what it is. the thing that's difficult but necessary. the one you'll look back on and be quietly relieved you didn't walk away from.

every day there's one live question, the same for everyone. answer it anonymously, see what other people said. it's all gone in seven days.

answer today's question

write down the thing. don't explain it or justify it yet. just name it clearly. then write about what makes it hard. is it the discomfort, the uncertainty, the possibility of failing. now imagine yourself six months from now, having done it. write a few lines from that future self's perspective. what do they feel. what do they know that you don't yet. this isn't about motivation. it's about honesty. sometimes writing down what you're facing makes it feel less like a wall and more like a door you can actually open.

  • name the thing you keep almost starting, and write about what holds you at the edge.
  • write a short letter from the version of you who already got through it.
  • consider what avoiding it is costing you, not dramatically, just honestly.

this is for you if you're standing in front of something that scares you and you know, somewhere underneath, that going through it is better than going around.
