what would you do if the night didn’t end?

this isn't about productivity or goals. it's about what you'd drift towards if time stopped pressing you forward. the night stretches out. no alarm. no tomorrow.

every day there's one live question, the same for everyone. answer it anonymously, see what other people said. it's all gone in seven days.

answer today's question

imagine the night simply continues. no one is expecting you anywhere in the morning. there is no deadline, no responsibility arriving with the daylight. write down what you would do first. then what you would do after that. don't edit for sensibility. maybe you'd drive somewhere, maybe you'd sit still, maybe you'd call someone. let the list be strange or boring or both. after you've written a few things, look at the list and ask: which of these am i not doing because of time, and which am i not doing because of something else. write a few lines about that difference.

  • write about the activity you keep saving for a time that never arrives.
  • think about who you would want beside you in a night with no ending.
  • consider whether the best version of that night is busy or completely still.

this one is for anyone who feels like their real life only happens in the margins. for the people who come alive after everyone else has gone to bed.
