what did you notice today that you’re glad you caught?

most of the day goes by without you catching it. but today, something landed. a detail, a moment, a look on someone's face. and you noticed.

every day there's one live question, the same for everyone. answer it anonymously, see what other people said. it's all gone in seven days.

answer today's question

write down the thing you noticed. be precise. not just what it was, but where you were, what the light was like, what you were doing just before. describe it the way you'd describe a photograph to someone who can't see it. then write about why it stayed with you. was it beautiful. was it strange. did it remind you of something. did it break a pattern in your day. writing these small observations down does something. it trains your attention. it tells your brain that this kind of noticing matters. and tomorrow, you might catch something else.

  • describe the moment in as much physical detail as you can, as if preserving it.
  • write about what you were feeling just before you noticed it, and how it shifted.
  • think about whether this is the kind of thing you notice often or whether today was different.

for anyone who wants to practise being present, not in a grand way, but just by writing down one thing that was real today.
