what have you been pretending is fine?
something almost left your mouth this week. you caught it, swallowed it, moved on. but it is still there somewhere.
every day there's one live question, the same for everyone. answer it anonymously, see what other people said. it's all gone in seven days.
answer today's question →close your eyes for a moment and scan the past few days. look for the conversations where you held back. it might have been something small, a correction you didn't make, a feeling you didn't name. or it might have been something big. write down what you nearly said, word for word if you can. then write about the moment you chose not to. what stopped you? was it kindness, or fear, or tiredness? write about what you think would have happened if you had said it. sometimes the unsaid thing is wise to keep. sometimes it isn't. just let yourself know which one this was.
- replay the exact moment, the pause before you chose silence, and write what was happening in your body.
- write the thing you didn't say as if you were saying it now, with no one listening.
- ask yourself whether not saying it was a choice you made, or a habit.
this is for you if you've been biting your tongue a lot lately, or if there is one conversation you keep replaying differently in your head.
