what are you ready to put down?

there is a difference between letting go and being ready to put something down. this question is about the second one. the slow, deliberate kind.

every day there's one live question, the same for everyone. answer it anonymously, see what other people said. it's all gone in seven days.

answer today's question

start by writing a list of things you are still carrying. responsibilities, grudges, habits, old stories about yourself, promises you made a long time ago. don't judge the list. then circle the one that feels almost ready to be put down. write about what has kept you holding it. sometimes we carry things because we think dropping them means we never cared. write about what putting it down would actually look like, practically, tomorrow. not a dramatic release. just a quiet loosening of the grip.

  • write about something you have been carrying out of loyalty, and whether that loyalty still serves you.
  • think about a belief about yourself that used to be true but isn't anymore.
  • consider what your days would feel like with one less thing in your hands.

this is for anyone who feels heavy but can't quite name why. especially if you have been holding something so long it has started to feel like part of you.
